Hammerheads! This picture of Scalloped Hammerheads (Sphyrna lewini) was shot in Cocos Island, Costa Rica.  We were having a bad week for hammerheads, and hadn't seen many, but fortunately I found this group by wandering off on my own at a divesite called Alcyone.

Scalloped Hammerheads grow to around 10 feet long and are primarily nocturnal pelagic feeders, coming in close to the reef to get cleaned by the smaller fish that inhabit the reefs.
