The Hummingbird Print E-mail
Hummingbird This shot of a Hummingbird was taken in the Cloud Forest of Ecuador, it took several hours of patient waiting with the camera and heavy telephoto lens. I shot about a hundred photos, but this one jumped out to me when i got back to my laptop, and is the only image i have used from the set.

 

The Cloud forests of Ecuador are home to many species of Humming Bird, the cool damp forests abound with nectar rich flowers that the humming birds love.

Hammerheads! This picture of Scalloped Hammerheads (Sphyrna lewini) was shot in Cocos Island, Costa Rica.  We were having a bad week for hammerheads, and hadn't seen many, but fortunately I found this group by wandering off on my own at a divesite called Alcyone.
