Sunrise in Paradise Print E-mail

Hyla bifurca Sailing into the Atoll of To'au at dawn when the weather is flat calm is an absolute pleasure, I took this image as the sun was creeping over the horizon on one of the few occasions we saw another boat at this wonderful location.

Shooting without any sleep and a lot of caffeine in my system is difficult without a tripod but fortunately the wide-angle lens hid that! The soft light was a perfect compliment to the glass like water making for a beautiful image.

Hammerheads! This picture of Scalloped Hammerheads (Sphyrna lewini) was shot in Cocos Island, Costa Rica.  We were having a bad week for hammerheads, and hadn't seen many, but fortunately I found this group by wandering off on my own at a divesite called Alcyone.

The Story Behind...

Hummingbird This shot of a Hummingbird was taken in the Cloud Forest of Ecuador, it took several hours of patient waiting with the camera and heavy telephoto lens. I shot about a hundred photos, but this one jumped out to me when i got back to my laptop, and is the only image i have used from the set.
