The Majority of June was spent in the Philippines, golfing, teaching, photographing and a tiny bit of relaxing too! This was my 5th time in the Philippines and I'm still seeing new stuff on the dives here. June started with a touch of a sore head following our welcome party at the world famous Point Bar at Asia Divers, Puerto Galera. We had arranged to play golf later that morning so we had a quick breakfast followed by lots of water and headed down to Sabang 'town' to hire our Motorbikes, 250cc Honda trails bikes!
Mike, Myself and Allan and Rebecca of Asia Divers then headed up into the mountains to the Ponderosa 9 hole golf course nestled on the side of mt. Malisimbo. We ordered 2 caddies, one for the clubs and one for the 'refreshments' and headed out on our round.
The customary 'beverage in hand at all times' rule was in force for the duration of the round, with some appalling golf being played in the most part but a few stunning shots being hit by each player at some point, a few shots even landing directly on the green! The final scores were so bad I shall not publish them here, Allan's local knowledge always makes him the man to beat on this course, and as usual he won, next year though we will have to have a serious game!
